Barbados has been identified as being among three CARICOM states working to introduce a regional ferry system.
The announcement was made by President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali during a contract signing event for a new 35 million U.S dollar Mackenzie/ Wismar Bridge in Region 10.
Once operational, the ferry will transport passengers and cargo.
Dr. Ali is upbeat about the prospects as his government positions Region Ten as an engineering and mechanical and transport and logistics hub for the trade between CARICOM and Brazil.
