Renewed call for tracking, licensing of dogs after rescue from 70ft well

Chief Inspector of the Barbados Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), Wayne Norville, is calling for licensing and tracking of dogs in Barbados to be made mandatory.

He made the appeal after he rescued a dog from a 70-foot well in the Bush Hall community.

Lamenting this is the fifth time he has rescued an animal from the same well, he explained it would be easier to hold people accountable for the actions if a tracking system was in place.

Recognizing the economic challenges some owners may be experiencing, Inspector Norville says they should utilize the correct channels to surrender animals instead of seeking to dump them.
