The Substance Abuse Foundation has been expanding its outreach to include teenagers.
The revelation from Senior Mental Health and Addiction Counsellor at Verdun and Marina Houses, Letitia Wiltshire.
Ms. Wiltshire was speaking to CBC’s Mornin’ Barbados ahead of an outreach at Sky Mall this Saturday.
She says public education continues in communities, even though some people have now accepted that addiction is a disease.
Ms. Wiltshire is urging family members to continue to support their loved ones, even though the person battling addiction has to be the one to decide to seek help.
