The Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) is appealing to Barbadians not to go into other people’s communities to dump garbage and bulky items in their skips.
The plea is coming from the SSA’s Senior Supervisor in charge of the Commercial Division, Sonia Outram.
She made the comment after SSA work crews experienced some challenges trying to access an overflowing skip at Redman’s Village, St. Thomas on Sunday, because of a badly parked vehicle.
She said crews had to return to the area Monday to address the problem.
Ms. Outram adds that the Authority provides a separate service for people who want to dispose of extremely large volumes of garbage.
