Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight has been defending the decision to acquire millions of dollars to upgrade Kensington Oval in time for next year’s World Cup.
She says the facility is in dire need of a facelift.
Her comments came as she led off Debate on the Resolution that Parliament approved, in accordance with the Guarantee of Loans (Companies) Act, Cap. 96, the principal sum of 25 million US dollars and interest to be borrowed by Kensington Oval Management Incorporated (KOMI) from the African Export-Import Bank.
Senator Munro-Knight adds the investment will bring several long term benefits for KOMI and the country.
