A Significant Haze Advisory is in effect for Barbados.
A Dust Haze Advisory is issued when dust haze has already or is forecast to reduce visibility to between 5 to 10km within 36 hours.
Hazy conditions due to a combination of Saharan dust and Volcanic smoke from La Palma, Canary Islands will continue to reduce visibility across Barbados and the surrounding marine area.
These conditions will persist over the coming days fluctuating in intensity.
Residents, visitors, and marine users should be prepared to take action, as a significant reduction in visibility is either likely or already occurring.
This alert message is valid from 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 and will be updated tomorrow, Thursday, October 28th, at 10:00 a.m. or sooner if conditions warrant.
