In an interview on the public affairs programme ‘One On One’, Minister of Labour Colin Jordan said he will be recommending the introduction of a six-month period for parental leave to Cabinet.
He says relevant studies and assessments have been completed.
Minister Jordan also made an assessment of the current climate of industrial relations in Barbados. In his opinion, the situation is tense after recent strikes and protests but it is not to boiling point. He offered suggestions on how to ease tensions, while defending his labour department.
