Barbadians interested in learning how to cultivate medical grade cannabis will get the opportunity to do so as early as this September.
That’s because the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology will be rolling out a new course.
This was announced by Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) Senator Shanika Roberts-Odle, as she signed a memorandum of understanding with the institute.
She revealed the Cannabis Cultivation Medical Grade Levels 2 and 3 qualification was created by the TVET Council, in conjunction with international, regional and local experts.
Principal of the SJPI, Ian Drakes, says the plan is to extend the training to the region.
