Government is considering establishing parental leave which allows both parents to have split time off to care for their child.
Labour Minister and Member of Parliament for St. Peter Colin Jordan, provided the update during a Barbados Labour Party Constituency Meeting last evening.
He said while the initial proposal had been for the introduction of paternity leave, the issue of parental leave had come up during consultations.
Minister Jordan has previously stated that consideration was being given for a total parental leave of six months.
The Labour Minister also shared that talks have started with Guyana regarding jobs for Barbadians.
