Students at the Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School most affected by recent environmental issues will be relocated soon, to continue their in-person learning.
The disclosure came after officials from the Ministry of Education toured the site earlier today, Monday 23 May 2022.
The school was closed last week after teachers and students complained of foul odours, burning sensations and itching.
Minister of Education, Kay McConney, stresses the Ministries of Education and Health are committed to a full investigation into the source of the odour as none has been identified on the school premises.
She says in the meantime, Class One, Two and Three students have reverted to online learning while temporary alternative arrangements are being made.
Minister McConney has revealed class four students, preparing for their upcoming examinations, will be prioritized in an effort to relocate students.
When asked for details on the alternative locations, the Minister told CBC News that discussions are underway.
