Police and fire personnel were pressed into action last night after a storage room caught fire.
The 20 by 20 foot wooden structure, located in Newbury, St. George and owned by Peter Best, contained various chemicals, cleaning materials, paints, pesticides, gasoline and other maintenance material.
Police say the fire reportedly started some time after 8:00 p.m. and was reported to their Operations Control Room around 8:24 p.m.
Two fire tenders and 6 fire personnel responded and the blaze was extinguished around 9:15 p.m.
The storage room was destroyed, however no injuries were reported nor was there any other property damage. The premises are insured.
