Students from 20 primary and secondary schools hit the road on Thursday to press home their demand that more action needs to be taken on environmental issues here and abroad.
The Student Climate March is part of the Barbados Youth Climate Summit and Expo organized by the Ashley Lashley Foundation.
Executive Director, Ashley Lashley, says the theme is ‘Beyond Talk, More Action’.
Xiye Bastida is a climate change activist in Mexico. She’s in Barbados for the walk and the climate conference which is being held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre and ends tomorrow.
She told the media climate change has been portrayed as a phenomenon that is far away both in distance and time, but that is far from the case.
