Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, says CARICOM is on track towards achieving the set goal of reducing the region’s large food import bill by 25 per cent by the year 2025.
He says the target was the focus of the just concluded Caribbean Week of Agriculture held in the Bahamas and the 109th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economy Development.
Ambassador Comisisong, who led the Barbados delegation in Nassau, says progress is being made by member states.
The Ambassador was the guest on the Conversations on CARICOM segment of CBC TV 8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
