Supplementary amendment of over $6 million approved for CBC

Government has approved a supplementary amendment of over six million dollars for the state owned enterprise, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.

This was announced by Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams, who noted that the $6,922,586 allocated for CBC is to honour labour union increments and salaries as well as trade payables to creditors for the month of March.

Minister Abrahams says the CBC has been unable to meet its commitments to creditors as well employee increments in a timely manner and therefore this was necessary.

He made the comment as he debated Head 33 of the Supplementary Estimates in the Lower House.
