Technology and innovation will be a major focus of the new national industrial policy.
This announcement from Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology, Marsha Caddle, as she addressed the Barbados Labour Party’s Christ Church West and St. Michael South Central community meeting.
The Minister explained that Government is focusing on the creation of high skilled jobs, with high pay, to ease cost of living pressures in Barbados.
Minister Caddle also provided an update on the recently established mechanics bay in Grazettes St. Michael which has a high uptake by business owners.
Minister Caddle further revealed plans for the Pelican Village Centre which will include the provision of child and elderly care services.
She explained that these new services at Pelican Village will allow for more Barbadians to work while their relatives are cared for.
