A video making rounds on social media, allegedly of a 4-year-old working on a public service vehicle as a conductor has resulted in Deputy Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw who is also Minister of Transport, Works and Water Resources calling for a full investigation into the matter.
It also prompted strong condemnation from Alliance Owners of Public Transport, Director of Public Communications and Public Affairs, Mark Haynes.
He called it troubling and concerning
Barbados Workers Union General Secretary Toni Moore, has also spoken out about the issue and while she is awaiting the official report, she’s made it clear that child labour is a serious issue.
