Police personnel in the Northern Division are investigating the unnatural death of a 43-year-old man.

Police say that the unresponsive body of Colin MacDonald Greene of Chalky Mount, St Andrew, “was discovered about midnight on Saturday 13 November 2021, hanging by the neck in a prisoner’s cell at the Holetown Police Station, St James. The discovery was made by on duty officers who were making their routine checks and interviews of suspects in custody who were kept in the cells”.

They add that Mr Greene first came into police custody on Tuesday 2 November 2021:

“He was assessed by the Ministry of Health COVID-19 Unit and had tested positive and was being treated at an Isolation Centre. He was later released into police custody on November 13 2021 and was transported to the Holetown Station.

“On the officers’ initial discovery, checks for a sign of life were made and none was found, a medical doctor was immediately summoned and after his examination, he pronounced death”.

The immediate family of the deceased was informed. They visited the Holetown Police Station where they identified the body of Mr Greene.
