The Barbados Police Service is searching for the suspect who attempted to rob a St Michael mini-mart this morning.
Public relations officer with the Service, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, told CBC News about the incident which occurred at the Road View Variety in Jackmans, St Michael.
“Police received a report around 8:15 am, via a telephone call, that someone attempted to enter the building with a firearm.
“This person was seen on a CCTV camera and police were called – they were not able to enter the building.
“Police responded and are continuing searches for the individual. No one was hurt nor any cash, or merchandise taken.”
Residents throughout the Jackmans and Hothersal Turning communities in St Michael, told CBC News that they have seen a heavy presence of police in these districts today.
