Venezuelan university keen on providing training for local nurses

A Venezuelan educational institution is interested in providing training for Barbadian nurses.

Head of Mission Chargé d’Affaires to the Embassy of Venezuela Commander Aquinas Clarke says the proposal by the University of Health in Venezuela is still in the embryonic stages.

He provided further insight on CBC TV8’s Morning Report.

Barbados and Venezuela have been working on a number of areas of collaboration, and many of them are yielding results.

Recent discussions following a visit by the Venezuelan Vice President to Barbados focused on agriculture, energy and food security.

Commander Clarke says as Venezuela emerges from a recent crisis, it is stepping out to meet with its allies and strengthen relationships.

He will soon be presenting a proposal for a teacher exchange.

The intent is to assist in the quest to make Barbadians bilingual.
