Barbados is being told challenges impacting the island’s water supply cannot be addressed in “one go” but systematically over a period of time.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says there are no quick fixes.
She says several projects are being undertaken by the Barbados Water Authority.
During Debate in the Senate on a Resolution that will allow Government to acquire land at Balls Plantation, Christ Church to construct a 1.5 million gallon capacity reservoir, she says climate change is having an impact on Barbados’ water supply, along with ageing pipes.
Senator Dr. Munro-Knight also says efforts to get Barbadians to conserve water should not be viewed as a bugbear.
