Extreme weather was among the factors which contributed to a decline in milk production in 2023.
That’s according to President of the Barbados Dairy and Beef Association, Annette Beckett.
She says as a result, the quantity of milk was less than that produced in 2022.
Ms. Beckett was speaking during an interview with CBC News.
She confirms she has seen cost savings since the installation of solar panels on her farm, but reveals such technologies are not widespread in the industry, because of a lack of finances.
