The entertainment community in Barbados is mourning the loss of one of the island’s greats.
Winston Carlyle Yearwood, affectionately known as Cassius Clay has died.
CBC News understands he passed away this morning in hospital.
Cassius was known in many fields from entertainment with his band, ‘Generation Bridge’ as he performed on many stages locally and overseas.
His ‘Snow Cone’ hit was released in the 1970’s.
Cassius also boxed for many years and was involved in charity work, focusing on the youth.
His performing side saw him undertaking some daring acts, including fire eating and balancing items on his chin.
