TRANSPORT

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources, Dr. Romel Springer has updated Parliament on a range of projects being undertaken aimed at improving the delivery of water to remedy outstanding challenges.

He says the Barbados Water Authority is committed to its mission of providing safe and reliable water services.

He expects service to improve through the two containerised desalination plants at two sites in St. Lucy.

Dr. Springer revealed work on concrete water storage tanks, being constructed to increase water supply, should be completed by the end of August.

During Debate on the Transport Head as the Estimates resumed, he provided further insight into the Water Augmentation Project.

The Ministry of Transport is being provided with just over $126,395,000.

Dr. Springer says attention is also being placed on waste water.
