Workshops offering personal, professional development

As they take advantage of new opportunities for professional development, nursing students and staff at the Barbados Community College have been encouraged to embrace some key attributes aimed at fostering their personal transformation.

Sharing the message was Director of the National Transformation Initiative, Dr. Allyson Leacock.

She was addressing a joint opening ceremony for two workshops, which are being facilitated through collaborations between the BCC, NTI and several overseas institutions and agencies.

The NTI is specifically involved in a workshop dealing with enhanced skills in caring for the older adult.

Highlighting some of the critical skills they will need to develop, Dr. Leacock stressed the importance of good communication.

She also encouraged those present to make the most of the NTI’s Coursera E-learning platform, noting there are courses relevant to their chosen career.
