April 18, 2024

Young Barbadian men are being encouraged to challenge themselves to set personal goals and never stop learning.

That message from Assistant Director, Rehabilitation and Therapy, National Crime Prevention and Reduction Unit, Nicollette Williams, to graduands of phase one of the 2024 Mr. Executive Interschool Business and Gentleman’s Challenge

She told them that committing to developmental and educational programmes is the gateway to becoming well-rounded citizens.

The challenge was created in 2017 by Winston Cumberbatch, former fifth and sixth-year head at St. Leonard’s Boys’ School Barbados and is now being coordinated by Educreations Caribbean which he founded after retiring from the teaching service.

The primary objectives of the challenge are to cultivate positive business ethics and entrepreneurial skills within boys, equip them for the world of work, and help them to become gentlemen in their attitudes, deportment, and relationships with women.

As part of the contest, the students from eleven secondary schools participated in a $20 Challenge.

During his remarks, Mr. Cumberbatch appealed to the media to assist with promoting the initiative which is helping guide young Barbadian men in the right direction.
