The Caribbean Public Health Agency’s (CARPHA) ability to secure supplies and samples to its Trinidad and Tobago lab has been impacted by the absence of adequate intraregional travel.
The situation is one Executive Director, Dr. Joy St. John says resulted in CARPHA relying on the Barbados-based Regional Security System (RSS) in filling the gap.
She supports efforts by regional heads to improve intraregional travel.
Dr. St. John’s comments came on the Caribbean Connect show in Suriname.
