President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel arrived in Barbados on Monday afternoon at the Grantley Adams International Airport where Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley was the first to greet him.
The Barbados Police Service Band and Barbados Coast Guard, as well as other dignitaries were also there to welcome him.
December 8, marks 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
President Díaz-Canel is on an official State Visit to Barbados and will take part in the Eighth CARICOM-Cuba Summit on Tuesday.
