From this Friday, the Jamaican Government will lift the COVID-19 pre-test requirement for entry into the country.

Currently, travellers are required to present a negative test taken three days before arrival.

However, that rule and the one mandating mask wearing in enclosed public places expire on Friday and Government will not further extend the requirements.

While mask wearing will no longer be mandatory, it will still be highly encouraged.

All other measures under the Public Health Enforcement Measures (Coronavirus COVID-19) Order 2022 will remain the same at this time.

The Health Ministry, while noting that the pandemic is not over, urged the public to continue to exercise caution and observe the infection prevention and control measures.

It says Government will continue monitoring the situation and respond as necessary.
