Jamaica’s Agriculture Minister Floyd Green has resigned after a video surfaced on social media showing him and at least a dozen others at a celebration on a ‘no movement’ day.
No movement days have been implemented as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor for the Mona Division in the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation Andrew Bellamy was also among the maskless attendees at the celebration.
Green says his participation in the party was wrong, and admits he has disappointed many.
He met with Prime Minister Andrew Holness this morning.
It expected he will be relieved of his duties on all state boards and committees of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
