No danger during aircraft incident

National Security Advisor to Guyana’s President Captain Gerald Goveia has shed some light on the incident at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, involving a plane carrying Guyanese President Dr. Irfaan Ali and Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.

The incident happened on Sunday.

In an interview with CBC News, Captain Goveia explained what happened.

Captain Goveia is a pilot of 45 years’ experience and the former Chief Pilot of the Guyana Defence Force.

He said no one on the aircraft, which is owned by the Guyana Defence Force, was ever in any danger but he fully understands the concerns given that the two leaders were onboard.
