T&T: Massy accused of using ‘bizarre training rituals’

December 22, 2023

The Trinidad and Tobago-based Massy Holdings board says it is “appalled” at the behaviour of its General Counsel and Executive Vice-President of Business Integrity, Angelique Parisot-Potter, during the company’s annual general meeting.

That meeting was held on Monday at the Hilton Trinidad in St. Ann’s, where Parisot-Potter alleged that the company was using foreign exchange to pay a Florida-based company, for some rather unusual training practices for its executives.

As a result, Massy has since announced in a paid media statement that it has initiated a “disciplinary process” to review her conduct and determine how it should be handled, “responsibly yet decisively”.

And while the board has denied accusations made by Parisot-Potter about employees being trained to communicate with the dead and self-heal with “white light energy”, describing them as “patently untrue and scandalous”, it has also said it has launched an independent probe to look into each of her allegations.

Parisot-Potter’s comments have since created a public firestorm in Trinidad, as well as a barrage of related jokes about Massy on social media.

In an internal memorandum to staff titled “stronger together”, Massy Holdings President and Chief Executive Officer Gervase Warner maintained that the statements made by Parisot-Potter about the company’s bizarre training rituals were more than “absurd”.
