Barbados is among the stops for a team of US hurricane forecasters who are on a preparedness mission to the Caribbean ahead of the official start of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
The tour gets underway Tuesday at the Lynden Pindling International Airport in the Bahamas.
The team is expected in Barbados on April 18.
Other stops include St. Lucia and Puerto Rico.
The mission will see weather officials visiting vulnerable communities to discuss hurricane preparedness, resilience and how people can become weather-ready ahead of the hurricane season.
