The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is monitoring a number of tropical waves in the Atlantic, as the historically most active month of the Hurricane Season approaches.
The outlook for the remainder of the season calls for an above-normal (active) Hurricane season.
The tropical wave of immediate interest was near 52W or 1080 km (670mi) southeast of Barbados at 2:00 p.m. This system is expected to bring some moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms around Thursday, August 25th, 2022.
Some areas across the island are already saturated due to frequent rains over the past few weeks and as a result Flash Flood Watches or Warnings may be issued at short notice.
The next update from the BMS will be issued at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, August 24th, 2022.
