A Flood Watch is in effect for Barbados.

A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favourable for flooding within the next 48 hours. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says an upper-level diffluent pattern along with surface to low-level convergence continues to affect the island. Shower activity has increased during the late evening with over an inch (25mm) of rainfall recorded over the southeastern parts of the island.

Occasional moderate to heavy showers are expected tonight with an additional 1 to 2 inches likely. This activity is expected to persist over the next few days.

This alert will be updated at 6:00 a.m., tomorrow November 6th, or sooner if
conditions warrant.

The BMS also notes that due to the saturated nature of the soils, this Watch could be upgraded to a Warning at short notice.
