The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring an area of disturbed weather embedded within the monsoon trough, about 2550 km or 1585 miles east of Barbados.
It says the system remains disorganized and is not expected to change much over the next few days as it moves very slowly westward to west-northwestward.
The extended forecast tracks at this time take the system well north of Barbados by late next week, however, the BMS is strongly recommending that the public stays tuned for updates over the weekend and early next week.
The BMS is also reminding the public, as we enter the peak of the hurricane season, to ensure hurricane preparedness checklists have been completed and to be ready.
The next update will be issued by the department at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow August 27th, 2022.
