Barbados ends CAC with Silver medal performance

The Men’s four-by-four hundred metre relay team added one more medal to Barbados’ tally at the CAC Games in El Salvador, securing the silver medal in that event last night, the penultimate night of the Games.

The quartet of Kyle Gale, Rasheeme Griffith, Rivaldo Leacock and Desean Boyce, clocked 3 minutes 02.12 seconds to finish second behind Trinidad and Tobago in 3 minutes 01.99 seconds.

Barbados’ medal count ends at nine – two gold, two silver and five bronze.

The honours list reads:

Gold – Shane Brathwaite in the Men’s 110 hurdles and Chelsea Tuach in Surfing
Silver – Men’s 4 by 4 relay track team and Michelle Elliot in Shooting
Bronze – Roberta Foster in Equestrian, Jabali Breedy in Boxing, Amber Joseph in Cycling, Matthew Wright in the Triathlon and the Women’s Hockey team.

In other results yesterday – in Netball, Barbados lost their Bronze medal match, going down to St. Vincent and the Grenadines by one goal, 51-50.

In Golf, Xzavier Wiggins finished 11th in the Men’s Individual Stroke Play final round with a 79/seven over par, while in the Women’s Individual Stroke Play final round, Emily Odwin was tied 6th with a 77/five over par.
