Barbados has inked a deal with the organisers of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League for matches to be staged at Kensington Oval for the next three years.
The partnership between Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc and the League not only paves the way for the return of exciting CPL T20 matches since 2019, but it’s expected to expose destination Barbados to new markets.
There are six matches scheduled for Kensington Oval, with four home games for the Barbados Royals, starting from August 30 to September 3.
The official media launch of the Barbados leg was held recently at the offices of the BTMI in Warrens.
Chief Executive Officer of Republic Bank CPL Pete Russell says cricket fans in Barbados will be treated to some exciting match-ups.
Russell also announced that prices for matches have not increased beyond 2019 levels.
BTMI’s Director of Latin America, the Caribbean and Sports, Corey Garrett outlined the benefits of having CPL matches back in Barbados.
