An eight-member junior table tennis team from the Caribbean Unity Sports Club recently competed in the LQ Classic Junior Table Tennis Tournament in Grenada.
The team of Jaheim Farley, Caleb Trotman, Majae Collymore, Devonte Simmons, Shania Hoyte, Imari Carrington, Makai Jones and Jakala Hoyte competed across the under-13 and under-15 age groups.
Barbados claimed a win with Collymore being the best among the under-13 boys.
In the under 15-girls, Hoyte ended in second position, while her little sister Jakala, at only six years old, was third in the under 13’s.
Head of Caribbean Unity Sports, Kevin Farley, says more assistance is needed to expose the players to more international competitions.
