There will be no representatives from Barbados boxing at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Both Kimberly Gittens and Charles Cox were defeated in their opening round bouts at the 2nd and final World Boxing Qualification Tournament in Thailand over the weekend.
Gittens competing in the women’s 75kg section lost to Erdenetuya Enkhbaatar of Mongolia, 4-1 with only one judge scoring a win for the Barbadian 30-27.
Meanwhile, Noa Hadjit of Belgium brushed aside Cox in their 80kg bout 5-nil with all the judges scoring for Hadjit.
