The 2023 Esther Maynard Icon Award recipient has been announced!!
In a ceremony held recently at the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) headquarters in Wildey, three local female stalwarts of their sport were nominated for the annual award, championed by the Barbados Olympic Association’s Women in Sport Commission.
The nominees were Yaima Payne from wrestling, June Rudder from track and field and Marlene Hall from netball.
Rudder, who has dedicated over 40 years to track and field, was pleased to be recognised for her work.
