West Indies Captain Nicholas Pooran has embraced the fact that winning the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia is a tough assignment.
The Windies find themselves in the first round of the qualifiers by virtue of having finished ninth at the World Cup in 2021, their lowest since the inaugural tournament in 2007.
The two-time champions headline Group ‘B’ and will play Scotland in their first match on Monday.
That group also includes Ireland and Zimbabwe.
The match schedule is as follows:
First Round
Group A: Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, and Namibia
Group B: Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe, and Ireland

October 17: v Scotland – 3pm (12 midnight Eastern Caribbean/11pm Jamaica on October 16)
October 19: v Zimbabwe – 7pm (4am Eastern Caribbean/3am Jamaica)
October 21: v Ireland – 3pm (12 midnight Eastern Caribbean/11pm Jamaica on October 20)
Super 12s
Group 1: England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Group A1, Group B2.
Group 2: India, Pakistan, Pakistan, South Africa, Group A2, Group B1.

SEMI-FINALS
November 9: Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney
November 10: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
FINAL
November 13: Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne
