Hurricane Larry which is located well to the northeast of the region is generating northerly sea swells across the marine area of Barbados.
They are expected to persist from today, Tuesday 7 September, through to Friday 10 September.
This swell direction can result in an agitation of sea swells particularly along western coastlines.
Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution throughout the week.
The Barbados Meteorological Services encouraged people to continue to monitor their updates and alerts, as well as to download the BMS Andriod App from the Google Play Store.
