The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Justin Welby is to visit Barbados in a matter of days.
He will be in Barbados from Thursday (August 8th) for two days.
One of his primary commitments as Archbishop is to visit each of the Archbishops of the thirty-eight Provinces of the Anglican Communion within his first two years as Archbishop of Canterbury.
His visit to Archbishop of the West Indies and Bishop of Barbados, Dr.John Holder, is in keeping with this promise.
He is expected to discuss matters relating to the Church in the Province of the West Indies.
They will also discuss some of the challenges facing the Anglican Communion and the contribution of the Church in the Province of the West Indies in addressing these challenges.
While in Barbados, Archbishop Welby will also pay courtesy calls on the Governor General, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs.
He will also celebrate and preach at a Eucharist at Christ Church Parish Church on August 9th.
