The black belly sheep project between Barbados and Guyana is expected to switch gears this year, as even more animals are set to be shipped to the country in the next three months.
Providing the latest update with the Department of Information, Guyana’s Agriculture Minister, Zulfikar Mustapha, says the project is aggressively moving ahead with preparations of pens and pastures underway.
He says the 436 black belly sheep that are in that country, are presently at the farms at the Guyana Livestock Development Authority.
But Minister Mustapha anticipates local farmers should soon receive their respective quotas of animals.
