The lifeline Barbados threw out to cruise lines during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pay off, as more of them are offering jobs to locals.
That is the word from the Chair of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Shelly Williams.
P&O Cruises is the latest company to bring a recruitment team to the island for a job fair which was scheduled to start today and end tomorrow.
It is their first careers event in the Caribbean and they are seeking to meet as many people as possible for jobs within their galley and food and beverage teams.
While unable to comment on that fair, Mrs Williams notes major players in the cruise industry have signalled their intentions to hire Barbadians.
