The man responsible for writing the majority of Barbados’ COVID-19 protocols says having such a pivotal role in the fight against the deadly viral illness has been mixed.

Speaking about his personal journey in dealing with the epidemic in Barbados, Ronald Chapman said he’s been described as both hero and villain by people.

Mr. Chapman, who is head of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, says in any case he has seen the effects of his work in both sides of the spectrum.

He was a guest on a virtual panel discussion hosted by the Lion’s Club of Barbados.

Mr. Chapman’s confident Barbados will see the back of COVID-19 once people get vaccinated and focus more on adhering to the protocols.

The discussion – Serving in a COVID-19 Environment – also heard from other service club members who said the pandemic actually had a positive impact on membership.

One of those is Cynthia Blackman, the Lieutenant Governor of Division 27 Caribbean of the Kiwanis Club.
