Tension is ratcheting up between the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) and the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA).
This time over an advertisement in one of the dailies. The BWU is questioning the motive behind the advert.
The paid ad outlines the BHTA’s support of tourism’s recovery, pointing out that one in every ten people in barbados is employed directly in tourism.
General Secretary Toni Moore says the Union is shocked by the move, especially given the distance that has been covered through dialogue which commenced 18 weeks ago under the chairmanship of the Ministers of Labour and Tourism.
