More parent training programmes

January 14, 2024

There has been a call for the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA) to create more drug prevention programs.

That is the word from the Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams. This announcement was made at the Christ Church Parish Church when the NCSA held a service to celebrate Drug Awareness Month. Minister Abrahams was not able to attend the church service, so his remarks were delivered by his Permanent Secretary Yvette Goddard.

In the feature address, Ms. Goddard said the NCSA along with the government have been given a mandate to conduct more research to create more drug prevention programs throughout the community. Ms. Goddard also noted that there are plans on the horizon for the NCSA to create programmes to help parents and families deal with drug awareness, drug prevention and substance abuse.
