Barbados narrowly missed out on the Silver medal and took the Bronze at the inaugural CARICOM 50th Anniversary Chess Team Championship in Guyana.
In a deciding battle today, after drawing with Jamaica two-all last night, the Bajan team of Emar Edwards, Katrina Blackman, Hannah Wilson and FIDE Master Dr. Phillip Corbin needed to win in order to medal…and they did so when they defeated St. Lucia.
However, Barbados finished third on 14 points with Guyana ‘A’, but the Guyanese team had a better game points score to take the Silver medal.
Trinidad and Tobago were crowned winners with 16 points after playing unbeaten.
