Barbados records 54 new COVID-19 cases

Barbados recorded 54 new COVID-19 cases, 24 males and 30 females, from the 406 tests conducted on Saturday, September 3, by laboratories across the island.

The cases consisted of eight people under the age of 18, and 46 who were 18 years and older.

There were 57 people in isolation facilities, while 760 were in home isolation.

As at September 3, there were 544 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 756,806 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101,451 COVID-19 cases (45,900 males and 55,551 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163,277 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated individuals is 154,423 (67,709 males and 86,714 females), which is 57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population.

The eligible population represents those people who are 12 years and older.
